Success Story | Making the Best Life for Mikilah

posted by: aschiffer | Monday 2/11/13

Keisha is in our independent living program and has a daughter Mikilah who is 18 months old. Mikilah keeps her busy and enjoys making a mess all around herself in her highchair while eating. Keeping up with Mikilah can be tiring but Keisha is motivated to succeed.

Keisha just began her first semester at Sinclair in the early childhood concentration. She was excited to receive a backpack full of school supplies from our Christmas donations to begin her new journey.  While Mom is at school or work Mikilah is at her new daycare, which she loves.

Saving money is difficult, but Keisha is determined to save enough to buy her first car and it may be in the near future when she receives her tax refund. Both Keisha and Mikilah are happy and healthy and well on their way.

You can help support kids like Keisha by making a donation to our Independent Living Program here.
