In February Mrs. Drown took her 3 foster youth and 2 biological children to participate in a painting activity through Project Jericho.  According to their website, Project Jericho is a nationally recognized collaboration between Clark State Performing Arts Center and Job and Family Services of Clark County, changes lives through positive in-depth arts experiences for at-risk youth and families.

The foster youth, ages 7, 9 and 12, had a wonderful time creating the artwork over a span of 4 days. The younger kids did their own personal project and the adults and older youth completed dot paintings that will hang in the Clark County Works Plus office.

Mrs. Drown reported that the kids had a great time and took extreme pride in the work that they did!

The 12 year old girl stated “We had a great time, not only did I get to work on the big dot paintings, but I also got to make a painting I was able to bring home. It was a lot of fun!”

Project Jericho offered dinner and snacks nightly to all who participated, and they also received a t-shirt.
