Hi, my name is Rodger Stauffer and I have been with CHOICES, Inc. for 9 years. I currently serve as the Program Coordinator of Licensing, Training, and Recruiting. My job is to find people just like you who want to help children in our community who have been hurt and mistreated, people who want to make a difference.

I love working with all of our new foster families, our mentors and getting to know so many different people as I tell others about our programming. There is nothing more rewarding in my position, than to help others find ways to help the children that we serve. Working with foster children is an amazing experience that can be both challenging and rewarding all at the same time. I know from personal experience.

I have been married for 25 years to my wife Barb and we have 7 children; Ellen, Matthew, Joshua, Stephen, William, Sarah, and James. One of our sons came to us through the blessing of adoption. My wife and I have been foster parents for 15 years and have provided a home to many hurting children, who miss their families, have suffered great loss and feel little or no hope. We have never felt more fulfilled than when we are able to help a young person find their way back home, to see a family that had been broken reunited. My wife and I are motivated and inspired by our faith. We have truly experienced the joy and the pain, the success and sometimes disappointment that often come to families who willingly open their hearts and their homes to foster children.

Because of our experiences working within the foster care system, I find it easier to help others who want to become foster parents or volunteer as mentors to our children.
